5.0 by MaximGeeromsMost beautiful on the island, very scenic. Many other riders which makes it fun. The descent is quite technical. The restaurants in Sa Calobra are all rubbish so avoid eating there. Professional photographer on the road for nice cycling souvenir. I did this on a ride from Port de Sóller over Puig Major and Coll dels Reis to Sa Calobra, and then back over the same roads, 80 km with 2000 m vertical, one of the best days on the bike. ... read more

Mallorca's top climb with superb scenery and stunning views. Due to its length of 10 km, the difficulty is not too bad. Done in the morning to avoid the heat and heavy traffic!
The queen of Mallorca!!! If you are here you MUST do this one! You get fantastic views here. Beware, the climb is not easy and once you think you're off it, the percentages just increase. Bus traffic is irritating here though. But still 5/5!!!
Top of the bucket list if you are visiting Mallorca, and of course, if you have the legs and lungs to tackle it.
beautiful scenery and a thrilling drop into the bay, one way in, one way out, we left PP at 07:00 to reach the top via Coll de Sa Batalla for 10AM, dropped in, coffee and cake then climbed back out to reach the top before noon, beat the buses and the majority of other riders as it can be chaotic after 12.
thoroughly enjoyed the ride but it wasn't easy chasing the sub 1 hour target , which I did.... with seconds to spare.
Must do climb. Great descent, testing climb! Pace yourself and it'll be fine. Pick your time of day to ride. Plenty of buses at busy periods & avoid riding at hottest part of day due to lack of shade!
Beautiful climb, one of the most beautiful! But can be very crowded. Also, sometimes cars's and buses block the road so you have to get off and wait before you can pass.
An article about this climb in a cycling magazine prompted me to take a cycling holiday in Majorca. The island is a true cycling paradise and the Sa Calobra is among the highlights. The views on the course of the climb are sometimes breathtaking. The climb is no runner and quite tough, especially in the second half. Keep in mind that it can be incredibly crowded here. The climb and the bay of Sa Calobra acts as a magnet to cyclists and other tourists.
Brilliant climb. Will never forget the first time I did it. I decended all the way down and was getting paler in complexion when I realised I had to climb out of those hairpins 🤢
A unique driveway. Spectacular views and an unforgettable experience.
Both the ascent and descent of this route provides an incredible experience.
There is a professional photographer on the route taking photos during the ascent/descent. Photos can then be purchased and downloaded from the website.
Unikatowy podjazd. Spektakularne widoki i niezapomniane wrażenia.
Zarówno podjazd jak i zjazd tą trasą dostarcza niesamowitych wrażeń.
Na trasie profesjonalny fotograf robiący zdjęcia podczas podjazdu/zjazdu. Zdjęcia można potem kupić i ściągnąć ze strony internetowej.
Probably the most scenic climb I’ve ever ridden, although it’s difficult to compare to the alps since the setting is so different. I went there before lunch on the first weekend of April, and was surprised of how few cars and busses there were (having read some reviews online…). The climb is a must do in Mallorca, but be careful on the descent, the tarmac is the only thing that leaves more to wish for.
A mythical ascent, a must!
Watch out for the coaches though...
Ascension mythique, à faire absolument !
Attention aux autocars cependant...
A bit overrated as far as I'm concerned. PRESSURE! And there are really much nicer stretches (both riding flat along the coast or climbing in the Tramuntana).
Wat mij betreft een beetje overrated. DRUK!
I've done this 3 times now. The first i stacked it over a wall on the way down, be careful not to get too carried away. It's easily done. The climb, is pretty consistent at around 7/8% for the whole duration. At 6 miles long it'll get you sweating. I like to look down from the top and try to work out how the visible sections of tarmac piece together. It's like somebody dropped a giant piece of spaghetti on a hill and called it a road! What i like about this climb is the buzz. Everybody there for the same reason, to witness and experience the iconic Sa Calobra. Lots of chat and banter on the way up. What I dislike is the vehicle traffic. Busses and cars will slow you down and give you a few scares on the bends. Go early or late to avoid traffic.
Very nice climb that is easy to do. After Puig Major, it is the highlight of Majorca in terms of climbing. Because of its beauty, it is also very busy with fellow cyclists and cars (very nice that there are hardly any motorbikes on Mallorca during the week). Port de Sa Calobra is a fine little port for lunch.
Definitely worth a ride whilst on the island although pick your time of day to do it as it can get busy at times. If you don't fancy climbing back up after the decent to the bottom there is a ferry option to Soller where you will have to climb out of.
Top descent and climb, definitely tough after already having 1,000 HM in the legs when you have to go back up. Views roads also fantastic!
Neverjeten ambient, razgledi, panorama enkratna, družba samih kolesarjev.

An incredible atmosphere, views, a unique panorama, the company of the cyclists themselves.
Rare cars, drivers are lenient as in the whole of Mallorca, the quality of the asphalt is sufficient for a safe descent. You can feel the incredible positive energy of all the cyclists...
We will return to these wonderful places again soon.
Echt perfect. Zeker een aanrader om te rijden.
It’s a must do climb , best done early in the morning to avoid the tourist buses ,
Best to get a snack at the orange man shack at the top of the climb rather than the expensive cafes at the bottom of the climb , it’s not to steep so you can go at a decent pace .
I went up in February 2022. During Corona time and low season, the climb is virtually free of motorcycles, buses and cars. The asphalt is impeccable.
Most beautiful on the island, very scenic.
Absolute recommendation. Many other cyclists make a real party of it. Keep to your own pace because this climb can seriously hurt.
Absolute aanrader.
There is nothing more to describe so beautiful is this ascent and descent, you must do it to realize how nice it is.
When you're talking about cycling in Mallorca, you're talking about Sa Calobra. If you have not done it, you have not been to Mallorca! Every holiday brochure shows this climb. Tip: A kilometre or two before the end of the descent (near the tourists) you can turn off to "Cala Tuent". At the end of a winding road is a restaurant "Restaurante Es Vergeret", where you can eat delicious pasta (a bit chic).
Impressive landscape. Downhill a really well built roller coaster. Uphill the most beautiful views of the Mediterranean. A must if you are on Mallorca!
Indrukwekkend landschap.
